Nottingham

Nottingham is renowned for its association with Robin Hood and the tales of his merry men in Sherwood Forest. A number of ancient settlements with fascinating tales to tell can be found just minutes from the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre. Nottingham Racecourse and Southwell Racecourse are two first class racecourses are close to the city as are several national and international venues.

The Angel Row, Bonington and Djanogly Galleries exhibit works of national importance and Neo Art at the Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery overlooking the city, today's Nottingham Castle is a fine ducal mansion, the original fortified castle was destroyed over the centuries in many battles.

Based on the Nottingham University Campus, The Lakeside Arts Centre public arts facility is a successful new multi-arts centre offering diverse exhibitions, music, theatre, dance, comedy, and literature performances.

With rows of designer bars, pubs and restaurants Nottingham provides a fantastic nightlife with over 100,000 people each weekend. A diversity of bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs catering for every taste are available, check out the extraordinary Pitcher and Piano, accommodated in a former Unitarian chapel. The recently landscaped Canalside and the Cornerhouse leisure complex, and Nottingham's Lace Market Quarter with live music at Bluu are several places to be seen and for comedy check out Jongleurs or Cabaret.
